The Mississauga Food Bank partners with United Together

  • April 3, 2020

The Mississauga Food Bank confirmed their partnership on Sunday, March 29, with United Together supporting them in their efforts to aid seniors. The demand for senior support is continuing to increase as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. Volunteer drivers dropped off seniors kits to 40 homes last weekend and will have to do 60 this weekend. Deliveries typically occur on the weekend but as demand increases United Together has also started to do Friday deliveries.

Friday, April 3, United Together picked up 40 hampers of food from the Mississauga Food Bank to distribute to seniors. The items were then sanitized and packed for delivery to seniors at the United Together warehouse in Mississauga.

The donations of food will only help aid for a short while. United Together is in current need of rice, canned meat, canned veggies, flour and toilet paper. Monetary donations from private sponsors have helped aid them in purchasing of groceries for the senior kits.
